A contemporary-modern dance work done in three movements, Metamorphosis is an abstract take on the concept of transformation.
The work explores three distinct levels within the process of metamorphosis, as imagined by Tianna Pourciau Sykes.
“We all go through changes in life and we evolve as human beings…that’s a part of the human experience.
Before those changes can occur there must be a shift in consciousness, in your perspective…an awakening of sorts.
The next step is often the hardest…surrendering. We have to be open to change and allow the process to unfold,
no matter how uncomfortable it may be. Once we have gone through those processes, then that’s when real transformation can happen for us, within us…
I wanted to express these ideas as purely and as simply as I could through lines, curves and the expressive body moving through space.”
